About this deal

Vegeta smashes his arm clean through Zarbon's stomach and out of his back, sending him flying into the Namekian sea for a watery grave) Vegeta! This particular series may not deal with many adult oriented themes, but its ability to hook an audience and keep them on the edge of their seat is virtually unmatched.

Despite being nearly 300 episodes after all was said and done, the original DVD's trickled out with a paltry offering of 3-5 episodes per disc. But, if Dragon Ball Z has one saving grace at this point, it’s that it delivers the campest villains in anime history, with pink Frieza and his purple lipstick hard to take seriously, while his elite Ginyu Corps of warriors spend more time thinking up cool poses for themselves than they actually do fighting. Though Nail informs him that the Dragon Balls would disappear, following Guru's death, Frieza confronts Guru to get the password anyway. Extras: Anamorphic (16:9), Language(s): Japanese, English, Subtitles: English, Interactive Menu, Screen ratio 1:1.Recoome Unleashed [ ] Vegeta: (after unleashing a barrage of attacks against Recoome) See you in hell Recoome! The Australian Madman release that is the source of these discs was made 10 years ago, while the anime itself is from the mid-eighties. This formula is set on 'rinse and repeat' throughout the series entirety, but the slow burn build-up to the action makes for a grand payoff. As Goku trains on his ship, Gohan and Krillin watch as Frieza and his henchmen Zarbon and Dodoria, interrogate a group of Namekians about their Dragon Ball, and another group of Namekian Warriors show up to stand against them. And what looked like an easy mission for Gohan and his friends turns into a battle to stay alive long enough for Goku to recuperate and join them on the planet.

Gohan, Krillin, Bulma, and Oolong are spending a peaceful day camping, but that night a huge fire breaks out in the nearby forest. Zarbon reveals his ferocious transformation to Vegeta; Krillin and Dende continue their journey to the eldest Namek; Goku trains under 50 times normal gravity; Tien, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu attempt to catch Bubbles as Piccolo meditates. Goku has to fight his way up the tower, and rescue a Frankenstein’s monster along the way in proper video game style. Krillin and Gohan swoop in for the final blow several times, but every time Guldo stops time, and runs to a different location. So as far as episodic content goes, the complete series is where anyone just beginning to discover DBZ should begin.Zarbon: (about the Namekian warriors) Are you certain that their power level is just one thousand each?

As Gohan, Krillin and Bulma travel through space to planet Namek they crash into a strange spaceship. I’m looking forward to the next instalment of Dragon Ball, to see more of Goku’s antics against Commander Red’s minions now that they have a Dragon Radar of their own. I gave this a quick spin, and found that the surround audio does a fair bit in giving the show some space, while the stereo track isn’t too far behind it in terms of clarity. It’s much in the same vein as the first collection, albeit with the action turned up a notch, and the comedy toned down a bit (you can’t have Goku crotch-patting his way through the series constantly. Zarbon thinks that the fight will be as easy as it was the last time, but he doesn't know that a Saiyan's strength increases after he recovers from injury, and Vegeta makes short work of him. The first arc with the first Dragon Ball revisits some old friends, including Pilaf of course, and Goku’s intended Chichi, but it’s here we also meet Colonel Silver, hot on the tail of a Dragon Ball, and not quite ready for Goku’s fighting abilities, or the ire of his future father in law, the Demon King Gyumao.

Someone else causes Vegeta to relent, and Goku being the kindhearted soul as always, decides to let his opponent live to fight another day. With Krillin and Vegeta both out of commission, only Gohan remains to carry on the fight against Recoome!

Gohan and the others are captured by a band of space pirates, who think they are the lackies of a villain named Frieza, who sent some of his forces to take over their planet long ago. A long running shonen action show has to be something pretty special to interest me, it has to mix it up a bit, offer something different, and above all entertain me. The aliens reveal their true intentions and Bulma, Gohan and Krillin must stop them before they escape in Kami's ship or face being stranded on a desolate world. Disc 4 has those 9 profiles again, and trailers for Kimba the White Lion: Deluxe DVD Edition, and Panyo Panyo Digi Charat Volume 1.
