Very few cooler brands are able to save you money, be easy to use and perform for just about any situation at the same time, and that makes Igloo’s BMX Cooler series a priority if that’s what you’re looking for. We consider the Igloo BMX coolers to be an excellent bargain considering what you are getting. Igloo BMX Cooler vs Yeti CoolerReason I gave it three stars (would have been 5) is because the Igloo silver branding on the front of cooler was wore off around the edges. I expected the product to be in perfect condition after paying a decent amount of money for it. Other than that the cooler itself is great solid handles and hinges seem robust enough for regular use. Love the grey and blue colour way and is a perfect size to take away for the weekend.

We don’t see any Igloo BMX Soft Coolers at this point. Perhaps they are still in the works or perhaps Igloo is going a different route with their higher-quality soft coolers. Igloo BMX Cooler Features With an integrated fish measuring ruler and tie-down loops in addition to its impressive performance and durable construction, the BMX 52 cool box is a great choice for keen anglers and fishermen. Igloo BMX 52 Heavy Duty Cool Box Features One of the other key features of a high-quality cooler is the hardware. The Igloo BMX Coolers have oversized hinges and stainless steel screws to hold the hinges in place. Oftentimes the hardware used goes unnoticed but it is a key piece to a long-lasting cooler. Being stainless steel, it will be much more resilient to rust and wear compared to lower-end materials. However, the latter has a much heavier emphasis on usage in nature, as its bigger options are reserved for big game like elk and moose, making the BMX series more suited for fishing and small game, in addition to parties and tailgating.Despite being less than a year in the ice chest, Igloo’s BMX has proven worthy enough for a comparison to the biggest name in the field: Yeti. I tried to pre-cool as much as possible before we went away and it kept the content incredibly chilled so very happy indeed. Love the rubberised straps to ensure the lid is tight. Would be nice to have had a drain plug but I guess you don't need it in the smaller size as they can just be tipped to be emptied. Overall really happy. Solid piece of kit.

kept all our drinks and chilled food cold for the three days we were away, would have kept longer if needed but we had used it up, so much better than our old 12v coolboxThat said, another option would be the Igloo's own store, which is actually pretty good. The BMX series is available right here. Starting with the construction of these coolers, Igloo utilized what they call “blow-molded” construction. As far as we can tell, this is very similar (if not the same) as roto-molding. Essentially, the cooler’s body is molded in a one-piece design. Taking away the need for having to glue/merge walls results in a much tougher cooler and it also assists in ice retention.

However, for the BMX series, Igloo decided to go with heavy-duty blow-molded construction, a cheaper, and significantly more lightweight alternative. Overall, we were impressed with the ice life that we experienced with the Igloo BMX Coolers. Depending on which model you go with and the amount of ice you use, you can expect anywhere from around 2 days of ice life up to nearly a week with the large 72QT model. When it comes down to it, though, you’re looking for a cooler that can keep everything you put in it chilly, even on the hottest days. For example, there are coolers are have been proven to keep food at a safe temperature for up to five days. In this review, we will go over the new Igloo BMX Coolers. We will elaborate on their features, discuss build quality, put them through our ice retention test, and finally give them a rating from 0 to 5.We like the design approach that Igloo took with their design of the BMX series. The complementing grays look great with the “pop” of the blue latches. And the diamond plate metal insert at the bottom adds that rugged touch. And despite being an “expensive” Igloo Cooler, the price point for these ice chests are still quite a bit lower than many of the other premium cooler brands with similar sizes. And the overall performance, while maybe slightly lower than some of these brands, is easily overlooked when you see how much money you are saving. This time, Igloo introduced a heavy-duty molded cooler with the new Igloo BMX 52 Quart cooler. So, no more dents on your cooler. This construction technique is called “Blow-molded” construction. Many will say it is almost the same as the roto-molded construction concept, but the entire body of the cooler is molded as one piece. Thus, no industrial gluing and seams are involved in the internal construction. It not only gives sturdiness to the cooler but also improves ice retention. The BMX takes care of that with UV inhibitors, which prevent the sun from causing any problems for your product for practically its entire usage. Features Regarding the build, Igloo claims they came up with an enhanced rugged body with sturdy construction and some exciting yet new features.
