On the open box, they come across a tad sibilant but do tame down after some burn-in, and this is further helped with the addition of the 2p mod, which involves taking off the name caps on the left and right side and gluing a 2p coin to each side. Essentially this is mass loading behind the drivers, thus reducing some resonance from the slightly thin plastic. The earcups are rather small though, and it is likely that your ears will press up against the drivers which can be a nuisance. Stability 3.0 If you want the SR850 but need more low end thump and noise cancellation, go for the SR950. Who are the Samson SR850s best suited for? The midrange makes up the bulk of what we listen to from voices to instruments. For the SR850, the midrange is present and forward and no way does it get drowned by the bass. Instruments and voices sound wonderful for such a budget headphone. This is especially considering most budget headphones usually have a recessed or slightly recessed midrange. This makes the bass and treble more prominent which gives a fun and popular sound quality. This is not the case with the Samson SR850. Mids are forward. High-End (Treble) AKG K240 is in a higher price category. At the same time, the difference in quality is noticeable. Sure, you’d have to pay more for them. But at the end of the day, it really pays off.

You’ve come to the right place!!

The headphones fits and feels alright, though you wouldn’t be able to compare it with other headphones which were designed to be comfortable on the ears. With some use, the tightness of the headphones gets more natural. I was able to slightly bend the headphone bands a little so that I had less pressure on my ears using the SR850. A grandes rasgos ya estaría hecha la review, pero... Oh no... En éstos últimos hay un pequeño problema, y es que hay unos mejores que otros en todo. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. It works only in coordination with the primary cookie. the 850 is going to be more comfortable than the K240, but you’ll still likely be making adjustments over extended listening/mixing/gaming sessions. The audio cable is also non-detachable and looks as though it may break with repeated use. These are budget headphones not meant to last. Comfortability 3.0

it’s hard to decide between these 2 headphones as I’ve swapped them out of the list a couple of times. They weren’t designed for sport and will most likely fall off with any intense movements. Noise cancellation and isolation 2.0 The soundstage is not totally absent but not quite there either(I paired these with DTS-Sound Unbound and opened the spacious sound stage which made these sound way better. No problems here at all other than, as mentioned, ears tend to get a little hot from prolonged use. The Samson uses a full vinyl headband instead of the wings used by the OEM Superlux's and benefits extensively from this, adding both stability and comfort. Sound Quality So with no EQ applied, this means that you hear all the resonances of the room and areas of audio which should not be heard. At best you get a better sounding hi hat or vocal. However that is only in the headphones. It is not a true version of the sound being created. At worst, it gives you a false output and when translated to another playing system then the music will not sound the same but it will at least save you forking out for headphone equalizer software intitally.

Which of these tickles YOUR pickle? I would love to hear from you. Until next time…

At the cost, I did not expect much about the SR850’s build and material quality. However, they are good and should last longer with proper care. The headphone is made almost out of plastic. The plastic quality is very low but they have surprisingly gone a few months without breaking. Speaking of breaking headphones, if you are someone who keeps breaking their headphones, we have an article here for someone like you. When it comes to treble, let’s just say that these headphones are… wonky. The entire region is exaggerated, making the low-highs sound harsh and the mid-highs piercing. Well, that’s about it for today my friend! I hope you’ve enjoyed this Samson SR850 vs. Superlux HD668B comparison. Impedance. The impedance of each is different. 32 Ohm for the 850’s vs. 56 for the 668B. What is Headphone Impedance? The great thing about these headphones is that they don’t sound bloated or cheap – something that a lot of entry-level models suffer from.
